AVOCADOS
There is a marked differentiation between the producing areas of Avocado Hass and Fuerte (coastal, desert area) with the other varieties that are produced in hot and rainy areas close to the Amazon. Approximately 95% of the avocado exported is Hass and the remaining 5% is made up of Fuerte and other varieties.
In Peru, the Hass avocado is grown mainly in the regions of La Libertad, Lambayeque, Áncash, Cusco, Apurímac and Huancavelica.
The main producing areas of strong avocado are on the coast, the inter-Andean valleys and the high jungle, mainly in Junín, Lima, San Martín, Huánuco and Cusco.
